FBE Excavator Digital Twin 2.0

This application has been created specifically for students undertaking Built Environment (BE) courses at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia. Its main objective is to educate students on the operation of hydraulic excavators and provide them with a platform to refine their control skills. The app offers a comprehensive learning experience through tutorials and interactive controls, allowing students to maneuver the model using on-screen joysticks. Furthermore, utilizing augmented reality (AR) technology, the 3D model can be overlaid onto real-world surfaces, enabling students to view and operate the excavator in a spatially realistic manner within their surroundings. This feature provides a unique opportunity for students to practice excavating tasks before transitioning their competencies from the digital realm to a physical remote-control model at UNSW.
